Product Description
The C7 assault rifle's development occurred alongside the M16A2 by Colt. A liaison officer from the Canadian Forces collaborated with the United States Marine Corps on the M16A1 Product Improvement Program, sharing insights with Canada's Rifle Replacement Program Office. The C7 closely resembles the M16A1E1 prototype rather than the final M16A2 version. Colt initially produced the earliest C7s for the Canadian Forces, designated as the Colt Model 715. The C7 firearm series utilizes the same Stoner bolt and carrier gas system found in the M16 series. Similar to the M16A1 and M16A3, the C7 offers semi-automatic and fully automatic firing modes. Additionally, the C7 incorporates the structural enhancements, case deflector, upgraded handguards, and elongated stock designed for the M16A2.
