HISTORY / BACKGROUND:
This was the final "all A1 Component" Carbine Model in the Colt 600 Series, and the second carbine
configuration built with a 14.5" barrel. This Carbine was primarily used by US Special Operations, to
include the Army Rangers and Navy SEALs. The only differences between the Model 653 and the 654
was the presence of the Forward Assist on the Model 653, and the lack of a Forward Assist on the
Model 654.
In keeping with the spirt of our Legacy line our "653" is very close to the original with some tweaks for modern ammo. This upper will have a 1/7 14.7" pencil barrel with a pinned and welded A2 flash hider. Please see https://www.tntesales.com/bcgkits to add a BCG and Charging Handle
